Pregnancy Progression

Growing a baby from scratch...

I'll be the first to admit that pregnancy was not my favorite experience. Considering how amped I was to be in that state, I was shocked at how tired and nauseous I was. Other women have most definitely had it worse than I did, but damn, it still wasn't easy. Oh, and I was also a raging bitch. I tried to tone it down as much as I could, but everything and everyone was so irritating. You are allowed to have a limited amount of caffeine in pregnancy, but nothing sounded appealing in those early days, especially a cup of coffee...bleh.

One of my most vivid memories of my first trimester was going to the park outside my work at lunch hour and taking a nap on a bench or in the grass. Luckily it was late spring so it was the perfect temperature, but that hour never seemed long enough.

(As a side note, there's a few reasons I've decided to continue my blog now after being inactive for so long. As a previously aspiring-preggo girl, and later an emotionally insane postpartum momma, I know I scanned blogs of women going through similar experiences. At first I combed the internet for what it was like to get pregnant, and after giving birth I was desperate to read about other women surviving postpartum depression and anxiety (I'll discuss this later). Additionally, I've done a terrible job at writing in the baby book, and think this is a good way to make up for some of that negligence).

Here's one of my first pregnant selfies:

Braun VoxBox

Now that I'm a mom, I. love. free. shit. I have signed up to be a tester for all sorts of companies, but the only one that I've had success with so far is Influenster. If you've got the extra time, it's really easy to become a member. They send out "VoxBoxes" with different products, and they send them to people that fit the profile for said product. Just today I got a Braun Thermoscan 5 thermometer #BraunTherms, completely F-R-E-E. So far it seems really easy to use, and is great when you have a baby who won't sit still longer than 2 seconds. We also have one that scans over the forehead called a Temporal Lobe thermometer, so I'll be interested to see how they compare.

Life Happened

Remember last year when  I posted my positive OPK? Wellllll....that turned into some baby dancing, which turned into a BABY!! I was holding off on telling people until I got past the first trimester. And I guess I held off on telling you guys until an eternity later. I can't wait to update you on what pregnancy was like and my little munchkin now. It's way too much to put in one post, so I'll update you little by little.
